Canning and Preserving The Safe Way
Learn to preserve your harvests of freshly picked fruits and vegetables the safe way, with all the delicious goodness of Grandma’s kitchen! This class will follow NCHFP (National Center for Home Food Preservation) guidelines for safe canning. We will discuss water bath as well as Pressure Canning, and discuss safe practices to food handling. We will make a ‘run’ of preserves, whatever is in season, in a water bath canner using delicious safe recipes and local ingredients.
Duration: 2 hours, student participation in hands-on food prep.
